Trump’s Health Agenda: RFK Jr. Tapped for Major Role in U.S. Health and Agriculture Overhaul

In case it’s not clear, we are in favor of public health here at This Week in Public Health.

In a recent announcement, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. shared that former President Donald Trump has offered him oversight of key public health agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Agriculture (USDA), if Trump wins a second term.

During a livestreamed event, Kennedy, who previously ended his independent presidential bid to endorse Trump, said the former president assured him control over agencies like the CDC, FDA, and NIH to advance Kennedy’s vision of “making America healthy.” This includes prioritizing alternatives to certain agricultural practices and investigating chronic disease trends. Kennedy, known for his anti-vaccine stance, has criticized current public health policies and campaigned for Trump in key states since endorsing him.

So, if you haven’t yet, be sure to vote.
