County Health Rankings and Roadmaps Co-Director

The County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R) program, a cornerstone initiative of the UW Population Health Institute and supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join their team as a Co-Director. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction and oversee the implementation of key CHR&R assets. These include various elements such as the model, measures, population health and equity research, policy analysis, and storytelling. The role is not just confined to administrative tasks; it involves being a prominent spokesperson for CHR&R, representing the program in national forums, and engaging in high-profile activities like broadcast interviews and speaking at major conferences. Reporting directly to the Director of the Population Health Institute, this role is integral to the program’s success.

The responsibilities of the position are comprehensive and varied. They include strategic planning, resource allocation, supervising staff, and ensuring the alignment of program strategies with the institutional mission. The role involves significant engagement with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise, managing large research projects, and contributing to developing grant opportunities. With a strong institutional commitment to diversity and inclusion, the University of Wisconsin-Madison provides an ideal environment for this role. The ideal candidate should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a Master’s in Public Health or a related area, and have experience in managing complex research projects, knowledge of population health and equity research, as well as experience in grants administration and people management.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting at a minimum of $103,000 annually, negotiable based on experience and qualifications, and a comprehensive benefits package. The role requires some in-person work at a designated campus location and the possibility of remote work. It is an ongoing, renewable appointment, reflecting the university’s long-term commitment to this vital program. With a need for occasional travel, the successful applicant must have reliable transportation.
