Health Partnerships Don’t Help All Communities
Hospital-community partnerships have been focused on improving population health, especially in preventive care. A study in Health Equity found that these partnerships were effective in increasing mammography screenings and flu vaccination rates overall. However, when looking at different racial and ethnic groups, the partnerships did not have a significant impact on Black and Hispanic populations, though they were effective for White populations. This suggests the need for targeted efforts to address health disparities in minority groups.
