Rutgers University is offering an exciting tenure-track opportunity for an Assistant Professor in the Social Foundations of Education, focusing on Race, Power, and Social Justice in Education. This position, housed in the Department of Educational Theory, Policy, and Administration at Rutgers Graduate School of Education (GSE), invites candidates who are deeply committed to advancing diversity, equity, and social justice issues in education and society. Ideal candidates will have a social science background and expertise in critical theoretical approaches and power analysis. The role is particularly suited for individuals with intersecting expertise in areas such as racial capitalism, coloniality, political economy, migration, ethnic studies, indigeneity, and critical policy studies.

The responsibilities of this role are multi-faceted and significant. The successful candidate will contribute to master’s and doctoral programs, focusing on equity, structural inequality, and educational social justice. They will teach, mentor students, conduct impactful research, and participate in program development. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to publish in peer-reviewed journals, secure external research support, and present at national and international conferences.
